Big Ben's liquor license is up for review. Because there is Voluntary Agreement, we have an opportunity to review that agreement and the recent history of any crime related to the address.

SOME Candidate Forum
So Others Might Eat (SOME) located at 71 O Street NW will be conducting a Candidates Forum on April 25th at 2pm. To date, 9 out of the 14 candidates for the Ward 5 seat have confirmed participation.
Request for Offers for JF Cook School
The Department of General Services issued a Request for Offers (RFO) for JF Cook and Langston Elementary Schools. I checked their website prior to composing a letter to the Director and found the RFO. The complete RFO is on their website posted under solicitations.
RFO for the Reuse of DCPS Excess Space
The Government of the District of Columbia (“District”), through the Department of General Services (“DGS”), seeks to activate and reuse the following vacant District of Columbia Public School (“DCPS”) assets:
· JF Cook - 30 P Street, NW
· Langston - 45 P Street, NW
· Rudolph - 5200 2nd Street, NW
· Young – 820 26th Street, NW
DGS hereby invites interested parties who are “eligible applicants” (defined below) to respond to this Request for Offers (“RFO”). Respondents are advised to thoroughly read this RFO. Nonresponsive offers will not be considered.
Pursuant to D.C. Official Code § 38-1802.09 (2007 Supp.)(the “Act”), the right of first offer must be offered to the following described entities (referred to in this RFO as an “Eligible Applicant”). An Eligible Applicant is an approved public charter school or a public charter school whose petition to establish a public charter school has been conditionally approved, under D.C. Code § 38-1802.03 (d)(2)(2007 Supp), as of the date Offers are due in response to this RFO.

Weekly Safety Walk
Join your neighbors in the weekly Hanover/Bates Civic Association safety walks every Thursday at 8pm. We meet with at the corner of 1st & O St. NW and are joined by the guardian angels, DC police, or both.
