NY Ave Kiosk
Tomorrow night there will be a discussion with a representative from the DC Real Estate Services regarding the NY Ave Library Kiosk. A group of Hanover neighbors talked two weeks ago about what they saw as the priorities, and here are some points of consensus.
The proposed RFP (request for proposals) will not include the park, playground or recreation center, which is good. All of us want to see those spaces protected.
We want significant community involvement throughout the process AND we want the new use of that space to continue to benefit the community and allow us to be involved.
We want the space to benefit all ages and people in the community, and want that to be a requirement in whatever agreement is reached regarding the kiosk.

Vincent Gray Town Hall: Oct 5th
Vincent Gray is spending time in each of the District's 8 wards over the next few weeks, a listening tour to set a different tone, and perhaps reassure those who supported Fenty. He'll kick it off with Ward 5, coming to the Community Academy Public Charter School (where HACA meetings usually are) at 1400 First St. NW on Oct. 5, 6:30 p.m with Harry Thomas Jr., Ward 5 Councilman. The two hour meeting should give residents a glimpse into the future of DC government as well as ask questions and voice their concerns.
